Removal of the plaster, gluing, reconstruction of the lack and colour, sailor suit creation.

This pretty doll, broken for a very long time, underwent a first gluing with waxed plaster that had to be disassembled with hot water. The gluing gave rise to a few surprises since one of the pieces was not in the right place.

Then I reconstituted the missing parts, then reassembled the body, keeping all its antique parts.

JUMEAU doll model EJ

This very pretty doll one of the first models of the house Jumeau pressed porcelain. She kept her original makeup, unfortunately the various home repairs have removed part of the front. She was wearing a wig made of plumbing. The molded cardboard of the body was softened in places.

To make it are original charm, it was necessary to reconstitute a part of the front, to put a new wig in natural hair and to realize a dress in the style of the time, in old silk and lace

Steps to restore a Schmitt Doll

Old Doll SCHMITT brand, reconstruction of a missing ear, manufacture of a hand and winding with restoration of the wig.

Rare and pretty Schmitt doll having undergone a first restoration having left it with a missing ear and a hand. Several pieces also poorly glued.

As part of this restoration, it was important to keep the original makeup that despite a first restoration had been well preserved. To avoid damage due to sanding, I protected the remaining colors and then restored the missing parts as they were originally.

This doll is mounted on a body TWIN, of which I reissued a hand not to have anachronism at the level of the form.

The old wig has been cleaned and capped

Restoration of a Bru doll with wooden body

Doll of the mark Bru, reassembly and restoration of the body of which sculpture of a feet, poses new wig in mohair.

This pretty family doll comes from an inheritance. She was very little abused, which allowed her to keep a head in good condition with her very beautiful original eyes. Despite all the time did his work by allowing the original parrot mohair to disappear leaving a few locks, the body to crack and a foot to disappear.

Always with the aim of keeping the most authentic object possible, I only replaced the missing parts. The original coating of the body being mostly in good condition, I acted by retouching to melt the restoration of the feet and the upper body as a whole.

That pretty Bru doll was worth getting out of the attic.
